As
the sun sets and the mist rises up over the water, a lone loon begins to
dance in the tranquil twilight. The lake is calm. The air is still. All is
at peace.
The loon is set free! With embracing wings, and rhythmic sweeping motions,
the loon rejoices in its freedom. What a wonderful experience! As I painted,
many thoughts began to surface in my mind. The meaning of freedom is what
I wanted to express. The sun represents the Son of God. The clouds represents
the darkness in our lives. The loon’s dance represents a soul set free.
God’s written word explains it quite nicely. St. John 8:32 says: “If
the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” What
a wonderful experience!
