Blue Rising
When I think of dolphins, I think of the thrill on a child’s face when he or she sees one bursting through the water. So full of hope, a child eagerly awaits a dolphin’s return to the surface. Just a glimpse, or even more, a dolphin’s touch brings the feeling of being one with nature.
In recent years, dolphins have been therapeutically used to help meet the need of special children. They are sometimes able to reach a troubled or withdrawn child. Some believe and hope that dolphins posses the power to heal. As I painted, I focused on the surface of the water - the breaking point. The dolphin is rising to a child in need. On the other side of the water, a child’s life will change.
This dolphin/child relationship brings to mind something Jesus said in St. Matthew 18:3: “Verily I say unto you. Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is great in the kingdom of heaven.” We must realize that our hope in this troubled world is in the Lord and we must be as children to find Him. “Titus 2:18 says: “Looking for that blessed hope, and glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.”
